The first comment in connection with the fact of the collapse of the station building was given by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Tver Region Andrei Belotserkovsky, who reported, what "…further examination will be carried out, and based on its results, the fate of that, what's left: and if we want to recreate it, how it will be done, is recovery possible, or it will be a complete destruction of the building and reconstruction from modern materials ".
Head of the Main Department for State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Tver Region Mikhail Smirnov, in turn, stated, that at the moment the priority is the scenario of the restoration of the building, not demolishing it, while noting, that due to the status of a cultural heritage site, assigned to the building, it is not subject to redevelopment, what scares off potential investors.
By day 8 August 2017 g. Governor of the Tver region Igor Rudenya instructed to create a working group, which should assess the condition of the building, as well as take control of the priority emergency repair work and scientific and technical expertise. 15 August 2017 g. in a press release he stated, that the "River Station will be restored while preserving the architectural forms", why the capital experts will be invited to work, among which was mentioned a member of the Russian Academy of Arts Sergei Ossovsky. Concerning that, how the restored building will be used in the future, the head of the region did not make any comments on the merits, and reported, that "this issue will be discussed with specialists" — while noting, что «здесь не будет никаких ночных клубов и торговых центров». The governor named the approximate date for the start of the restoration work in the spring of 2018.
Gallery owner Marat Gelman, which in 2011 tried to open a modern art center in the station building, 9 August 2017 g. in an interview with "Open Russia" said, that I am convinced, that incompetent are to blame for the collapse, in his opinion, local authorities, who were not actively looking for investors, willing to finance the reconstruction of the building. Gelman also suggested, that the inaction of officials could also be due to the fact, что «они хотели расчистить и построить там свой дворец или торговый центр».
11 August 2017 g. The Prosecutor's Office of the Tver Region announced the completion of the previously begun verification of compliance with legislation on cultural heritage sites by local authorities. According to its results, in the activities of officials of state bodies and institutions, the fact of improper fulfillment of the assigned duties to ensure sufficient and timely measures for its safety was revealed, as well as powers for the implementation of regional and state supervision in the field of protection of objects of cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation. According to a post on the website of the prosecutor's office, 10 August, a submission was sent to the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Tver Region Alexander Menshchikov on the elimination of the revealed violations of the law.
23 August 2017 g. from material, published by the Tverigrad website, became known, what else 31 Martha 2017 year by a special commission of eight people, which includes representatives of the GKU of the Tver region "Tveroblstroyzakazchik" and the scientific and restoration center "Tverproektrestavratsiya", an act of visual technical inspection of the station building was drawn up. Among others, the document stated, that many parts of the building are in "extremely disrepair", including the "facade of the southern part of the central rotunda, stylobate arcade designs, half arches, limiting walk-throughs, decorative elements of the gazebo, floors over the second floors of the wings of the building " — that is, the very constructions, which fell into the night with 7 on 8 August.
Besides, in the same publication fragments of photocopies of some pages of this act were presented, including, approximate estimates for the implementation of priority emergency measures (~ 7.5 million rubles), development of scientific and project documentation for the restoration (~ 15 million rubles), and the very conduct of repair and restoration work (~ 150 million rubles).
